Cadet Represents South Carolina at College Debate 2016
Cadet James Durant, a junior from The Citadel, is joining the College Debate 2016, which is designed to increase student voter participation in the upcoming presidential election and future political changes in the U.S.
The goal is to stir Millennials in the U.S. to vote this coming November. This is to be accomplished through engaging, respectful conversations about which issues are most important to them.
Durant will represent South Carolina as well as The Citadel. There will be student delegates from 150 colleges throughout the U.S. All 50 states will be represented at the debate.
“The essential issues of lowering the unemployment rate without minimizing entitlements, the reform of the criminal justice system to help minimize cop killings and deaths of bystanders, and also with me being a current service member the issue of military funding and resources also resound quite loudly,” Durant said about this year’s election and debate.
